How to spot a fake id - California edition

I have been working the door at a CA venue for a year and I wanted to give you guys some tips on how to spot a fake id for California. The biggest giveaway is usually the bear. On a real ID, there is a laser-perforated bear that only shows up when you shine a light through the back of the card. Most novelty cards either miss this or it looks like a series of big holes.

Another thing is the microprint. If you use a jeweler's loupe, you should be able to read the tiny text. If it is just a fuzzy line, it is a fake. We also check the signature thickness; real ones are very fine. If the signature looks like it was drawn with a thick marker, it is a red flag.
