If you are using a PA card, the ghost image transparency is the most important part. On the real Pennsylvania ID, the secondary photo is very faint but clear. I have seen many novelty id cards where the ghost image is way too dark, making it look like a black blob in the corner. That is an instant fail at any bar in Philly.
Another thing to check is the microprint along the bottom edge. It should be sharp enough to read under a 10x magnification. Most vendors use standard printers that cannot handle that level of detail. If you want a card that passes, make sure the vendor uses high-end offset printing. Has anyone found a good PA vendor lately?
