State ID guide: Why California is still the hardest

In my state ID guide, I always rank California as the hardest to replicate perfectly. It is not just the bear; it is the sheer number of overlapping features. You have the UV, the OVI, the laser-perforated bear, and the micro-printing all in one area. If any one of those is even 5% off, a good bouncer will see it.

Most vendors can do a 'decent' CA card, but finding the best fake id for California requires looking at the laser ablation quality. The signature should look like it was burned into the plastic, not just printed. If you can't feel the ridges of the signature, it is not a high-end card. Stick to vendors who have a long history of perfecting the CA template.
