North Carolina ID tips - Don't get caught in Charlotte

If you are heading to Charlotte, you need to be careful with your North Carolina novelty ID. The bouncers there are very familiar with the local license and they always check the UV seal on the front. On a real NC ID, the seal is very sharp and has a specific gold-to-green glow under a blacklight. If yours is just a generic yellow, it will be confiscated.

The tactile features on the NC card are also quite unique. The date of birth is engraved with a laser and should be very clear. I have seen some fakes where the engraving is too deep, making the plastic look burnt. It should be a subtle but unmistakable ridge. Make sure your vendor is using the latest 2026 template for the best results.
