Novelty id cards: Why the backup address matters

Having a high-quality novelty id card is only half the battle. You also need to know the area your address is from. I've seen bouncers ask people things like 'What's the nearest cross street?' or 'What's the name of the high school near there?' If you don't know the answer, they'll know you're using a fake.

I suggest spending 10 minutes on Google Maps looking at your 'new' neighborhood. Know the name of a local grocery store or a popular park. If you sound like you actually live there, the bouncer will be much less likely to scrutinize your ID. It's all about the authenticity of the story, not just the card itself.
