Does anyone have tips for New York bouncers in 2026?

I'm heading to NYC next weekend and I'm a bit nervous about the security there. I have a New York novelty ID that looks great, but I've heard that bouncers in Manhattan are super aggressive with jeweler's loupes to check for microprint. Does anyone have specific tips for dealing with NY doormen in 2026?

I've been practicing my address and I know my zip code by heart. I also have a backup credit card with the same name. Is there anything else I should be prepared for? I've heard they sometimes check the window clarity under a very bright light. Any advice from locals or frequent visitors would be much appreciated!
