My take on the new New Jersey design from Pastel IDs

The stealth packaging on my latest King of Fakes order was actually pretty genius.

Comparing this to King of Fakes, I think Michigan is actually the better choice for most people. The design is complex enough to be convincing but common enough that it doesn't stand out too much. The polycarbonate layers are fused perfectly with no signs of peeling at the edges.

I'm curious if anyone else has had issues with the 2D barcode on these? Mine worked at the gas station but a buddy of mine said his failed at a major chain. Consistency seems to be the main issue with the budget shops lately. Spend the extra money on a premium vendor if you can.

The first thing I noticed was the weight of the card. It doesn't feel like those cheap library cards you see some vendors pushing. When you drop it on a table, it has that specific metallic ring that Michigan bouncers are always listening for. The holograms are surprisingly crisp too, shifting perfectly from green to gold when you tilt it back and forth.

Technical Details

• Scannability: Worked on BCS and every other app I tried.
• UV Reactivity: The hidden bear/outline was bright under a blacklight.
• Perforations: Laser holes are clean and visible when held to the light.
