Reordering - is it easier the second time?

For anyone struggling with getting the perfect ID photo like I did, here's what finally worked for me after TWO rejections (don't be like me!):

What didn't work:
❌ Attempt 1: Selfie with phone - rejected for "improper framing"
❌ Attempt 2: Bathroom photo - rejected for "background shadows"

What finally worked (approved immediately):

  1. Natural lighting is KEY: Took the photo mid-afternoon near a large window. Natural daylight makes HUGE difference compared to indoor lights.
  2. Background matters: Plain white wall, but made sure to stand about 5-6 feet away from it to avoid any shadows.
  3. Have someone else take it: Much better framing than trying to do a selfie or use a timer.
  4. Expression: Neutral, relaxed face. No smile. Think "DMV photo" vibe.
  5. Framing: Face should fill about 70-80% of the frame. Not too close, not too far.
  6. Camera quality: Used iPhone on portrait mode for depth. Any decent smartphone camera works.
  7. Multiple shots: Took about 15 photos and picked the absolute best one.

Pro tips:
• Wear what you'd wear in a real ID photo (solid color shirt works best)
• Hair should be neat and out of your face
• No glasses unless you normally wear them daily
• Make sure there's no glare on your face
• Photo should be recent (don't use old photos)

The customer service team is actually really helpful too - when my second photo got rejected, they sent specific feedback about what was wrong. Don't be afraid to reach out with questions!

Hope this helps someone avoid the frustration I went through. Get it right the first time and save yourself days of waiting!
